Portrait of English Pointer Pointing Birds
For more than thirty years Daniel Dempster has roamed the backroads and wild places of America seeking out and capturing the beauty of this wonderful land. Whether he is photographing the powerful thoroughbreds of Kentucky as they thunder down the stretch at Churchill Downs or roaming a stark and rugged Maine coastline searching for the perfect combination of composition and light, he is at home with a camera in his hand. Good job. What kind of collar?
Daniel Dempster replied:
Thank you. I'm not sure. It looks like a DT Systems collar to me but I don't know for sure. I wrote a review on one of their collars a while back for Pointing Dog Journal. Without going in to look, I believe this dog was photographed at Deer Creek Lodge in Kentucky either while I was working on a series of books on wingshootiing or possibly while doing a shoot for Beretta.
Daniel Dempster replied:
I was wrong. I photographed this guy at the Ringneck Ranch near Tipton, Kansas. I nearly got snowed in but was able to catch a flight out a day early. I talked to several hunters who stayed and they said they got hammered with snow and ice the day after I left.
